Medicare EPC
Heal, Move Well and Feel Empowered
What is an EPC Program?
The Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program is a valuable Medicare initiative designed to support individuals with chronic or complex health conditions through access to allied health services. This program offers up to 5 subsidised physiotherapy consultations per calendar year, which can be a significant benefit for managing and treating musculoskeletal injuries and chronic conditions.
Here’s a detailed look at how the EPC program can help you and how we can support you through this initiative:
How the EPC Program Can Benefit You:
Financial Support for Treatment:
The EPC program provides up to 5 subsidised physiotherapy consultations each year. This means you can receive high-quality physiotherapy care at a reduced cost, making it easier to manage your chronic health condition or musculoskeletal injury.Comprehensive Physiotherapy Services:
The program allows you to access a range of physiotherapy services tailored to your specific needs. Our skilled physiotherapists offer personalised treatment plans to address your musculoskeletal injuries, manage chronic conditions, and help you achieve your health goals.Holistic Approach to Your Health:
The EPC program supports a holistic approach to health care. By working with your GP and our physiotherapists, we can develop a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses not only your immediate injury but also supports your overall health and wellbeing.Long-Term Health Management:
The EPC program is not just about immediate relief but also about long-term health management. We work with you to develop strategies for ongoing care, injury prevention, and maintaining your health and mobility in the future.
Initial Assessment: During your initial physiotherapy consultation, we will conduct a thorough assessment to understand your musculoskeletal injury and chronic health conditions. We will work with you to develop a tailored treatment plan that meets your specific needs and goals.
Processing Your EPC Plan: If you bring your EPC documents from your GP, we will help you process your plan with Medicare, ensuring that you receive the rebates you’re entitled to for your physiotherapy sessions.
Personalised Treatment Plans: We provide a range of physiotherapy treatments and services, including manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and dry needling, to address your injury and chronic conditions effectively.
Ongoing Support and Follow-Up: We offer regular follow-up appointments to monitor your progress, adjust your treatment plan as needed, and provide ongoing support to help you achieve your health and recovery goals.
Education and Advice: We will educate you on body mechanics, injury prevention, and self-management strategies to support your recovery and maintain your health in the long term.
If you think you may be eligible for the EPC program, please discuss this option with your GP at your next visit. If approved, bring your EPC referral, Medicare Card and any relevant documents to your physiotherapy appointment so we can process your plan with Medicare and start your journey towards recovery.
